Frequently Asked Questions

What Can I Expect At My Appointment?

At your first appointment you will be asked about your medical history and any past cosmetic treatments you have had. You will then be able to discuss the concerns you have and what treatments you are interested in. If you are unsure, Dr Samer will offer her expert opinion, keeping in mind the constraints you may have such as personal preference, budget and so on.

All the information about the treatment will then be explained to you so that you have full informed consent before proceeding. If you are happy to proceed, the first treatment will be done there and then. If not, you can reschedule to attend at another time for treatment.

Occasionally, treatment cannot be done at the first appointment for various reasons, but this is not typical.

Can I Wear My Makeup?

Yes, you can wear makeup. Wrinkle relaxer treatments do not affect it at all and dermal fillers occasionally require removal of a little makeup as the skin needs to be cleansed prior to treatment.

How Long Will The Appointment Take?

You first appointment will take half an hour typically but if you are having a combination of treatments it may take a little longer. Dr Samer will not rush the appointment as she takes time to ensure the best possible cosmetic result is achieved. Subsequent appointments for treatment will typically take between 15 and 30 minutes. You will routinely have a follow-up appointment after your first treatment which is to review the results and ensure you are totally satisfied. This is a 15 minute appointment unless further treatments have been arranged to be done at the time.

Will I Experience Any Pain?
This varies from person to person. You need to discuss your concerns with Dr Samer at the time of making the appointment so you can be given advice in advance if there are particular things you need to do.

Typically there is minimal pain or discomfort. Wrinkle Relaxer injections are like small scratches on the skin. They are very quick and most people barely feel them. Dermal fillers can be a bit more uncomfortable depending on which part of the face is being treated. Local anaesthetic is used as required to block pain.
Can I Go Straight Back To Work?
Most people do go straight back to work. This is why it is often referred to as the “lunch time face lift”. After dermal filler treatments, you prefer to have a little time out but it is not critical.
Will there be any Bruising?
Wrinkle relaxer injections bruise very little, if at all. Most treatments cause no bruising and no one will know you have had anything done. Dermal fillers can bruise depending upon the area being injected. The worst areas are cheeks and chins. Dr Samer uses arnica (a homeopathic remedy for trauma and bruising) and ice to reduce bruising, but unfortunately, it cannot be avoided. Makeup will cover most of the bruising but if you are one of those people who bruise easily, you should expect some bruising and plan accordingly.
How Much Does It Cost?
  • A consultation is $90 which will be waived if you decide to have a treatment on the day.

Dr Samer’s fees are based on the amount of product that is used for your treatment so prices will differ from person to person.
